Ulla’s work is characteristically Scandinavian. She uses gold and silver, and other metals such as bimetal and steel, with a range of polished and uncut stones and beads.
Form, weight and surface treatment all play important roles in the design. The finished piece should be pleasing to the hand, to the eye and to the touch.
Inspiration comes from various sources ranging from urban architecture to natural objects. A combination of traditional jewellery and silversmithing techniques are used to create the work. curriculum vitae
Brought up in Stockholm.
Trained at Sir John Cass.
Set up first workshop in London.
1982 : Moved to workshop in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York.
1986 : Returned to London and set up workshop in Camden.
1991 : Work included in 20th Anniversary Show at Electrum Gallery, London.
1995 : Selected for the ACE Fellows Choice exhibit at the Baltimore Craft Fair.
