Claire works in silver and opaque enamels. She is concerned with colour, surface texture and positive and negative spaces. By creating small areas of colour within a piece, Claire aims to give the enamel a more precious quality.
Her limited palette is inspired by the colours of a Russian winter, and the use of simple geometric shapes a reflection of the harsh architectural landscape of the former Soviet Union. curriculum vitae
1989 : graduated with BA (Hons) in Jewellery and Silversmithing from Loughborough.
1991 : graduated with an MA in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery from the Royal College of Art in London.
1991 : winner of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths award for Silversmithing.
1993 : awarded Crafts Council Setting Up Grant.
2004 : Now lives in America.
